Billy Joel

To say that Billy Joel led an interesting life would be the understatement of the year. I never knew he was a juvenile deliquent in his youth and actually spent more time boxing than playing the piano. There are so many top notch Billy Joel songs, but I picked this one because I like the slow bluesy chorus and Joel's piano licks are just great. Joel's vocal range is awesome and any singer who would attempt one of his tunes better have at least 2 octaves to work with.

I subbed flute for the sax on this version and threw in some electric and acoustic guitar. The original featured Billy playing the piano with just bass and drums for the rhythm section, a solo sax and strings in the background.
